Spanish Instructor at Stillness Power
Julie is a native Spanish-speaker having spent a good amount of her growing up in Mexico, her father’s country of origin. As a teenager she had to learn English as a second language when her family moved back to her mother’s native country, the US. She subsequently learned French, Latin and some Italian. Julie earned her B.A. in Spanish Literature from Boston College. She has been enjoying teaching Spanish to children from 4 to 10 years of age over the last 4 years. She loves making learning a new language fun and interesting for kids. Research has been showing that learning a second language boosts childrens’ IQ levels as well as their learning abilities in many other subjects like math, reading, etc. But Julie has a passion for teaching Spanish because aside from all those benefits, she believes learning languages makes us better citizens of the world!
